Songs

 

If any specific songs are requested for the ceremony, I will need to know the songs at least 6 weeks before the date of the event.

For special songs (for example: wedding entrance song, or singing accompaniments for an occasion).

I can send you recordings before the event, for your approval.

If you know the songs now, you can request them below.

For songs not included in https://www.mattcollinspiano.com/repertoire, there will be an extra charge of £50 per song to cover the cost of sheet music and practicing to an acceptable performance standard.

You would normally need to choose 3 songs:

• Entrance Song(s) 

• Signing of the register 

• Exit Song  

 

 

Note: For a wedding entrance, you could choose 2 tunes: one for the wedding party, and the other for the arrival of the bride. I will transition smoothly between the 2 tunes, at the correct time. (You don't need to worry about timings)

 

Add a live singer?

 

Would you like a singer to perform for your wedding ceremony? I work with several professional female singers who could sing your special song, live. Contact me for details, and additional costs.

 

Payment

 

A 10% deposit is required to secure the booking. Please can the balance be paid no less than 1 week before the date of the event.

Logistics/Timings

 

The arranged fee will include arrival at least 1 hour before the event. I can liaise with the venue if needed. I can set up one or two portable digital pianos, at different locations.

For example: if your ceremony is inside, and your drinks reception is outside, I can have 2 pianos set up ready to go. This is to avoid having to relocate a piano during the day.

 

Travel

 

The cost includes venues within 1 hour of BA152JT. For any greater distance there is an addition cost of £50 Timings

I will normally take a 10 minute break after every hour at a suitable time. I will play for the duration of the sections of the day that I am booked for, and will adapt if timings change on the day.

 

Equipment

 

The arranged fee can include (if necessary) the hire of a black mini grand piano, and a white upright piano. These are digital and can be placed anywhere (inside, outside or even upstairs). My equipment is all battery powered. I require a space of approximately 2m x 1m. If the venue has a piano, I can also use that, in addition to my piano, which can be placed in a different location.

 

Social Media

 

Matt may share photos and video clips from the wedding on social media - focused on the piano playing. If you have any restrictions on social media please let Matt know.

Cancellation Conditions

 

One month before the wedding date, 50% of balance due.

7 days before wedding day, 100% of balance due.

However, in the unlikely event of a Covid-related cancellation or similar, no cancellation fee would apply. In the very unlikely event that Matt is unable to attend due to circumstances beyond his control such as serious illness or accident, he would be flexible and work with you to come up with a satisfactory solution. For example, suggest another similar musician, a full refund including deposit, or providing recordings of his piano playing at reduced cost.

 

FAQ

 

Q: Do you provide your own Piano?

A: Yes! I have two digital mini grand pianos which are amplified. This is included in the cost. If the venue has a piano, I can also use that, assuming it is in reasonable condition andtuned.

 

Q: What if our event/drinks reception is outside?

A: If the weather is looking good, I can place one of my pianos outside before the ceremony, so that is ready to entertain guests on the lawn/patio.

 

Q: Can you play outdoors?

A: Yes! My equipment is battery powered, and I use professional Keyboard amplification which is suitable for outdoor ceremonies/events. For drinks receptions in the summer, I can place a piano outside on a lawn or patio area.

 

Q: Can you play upstairs?

A: Yes: My digital mini grand pianos are portable and can be placed in any location

 

Q: How can I time my entrance to the processional music?

A: The advantage of having a live musician play for your entrance, is that I can adjust the music on the day. This depends on how many people are in the bridal party, and how long the entrance aisle is etc. I will work with the celebrant on the day to make sure the music is perfect. Once you have chosen the music, my advice is, to not worry about timings, and enjoy the moment!

 

Q: How long will you play for?

A: For the Wedding Ceremony, I will start playing as your guests arrive (normally 20-30 minutes before the ceremony). For the Drinks reception, I will play until your guests are called into the wedding breakfast. For the wedding breakfast, I will play for the duration of the meal, or until 6pm, whichever is sooner.
